Bantwal, Nov. 8: A person was run over by a train at Farangipete on November 8, Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Chandrahasa (45), a resident of Ramalkatte.
It is learnt, he was run over by the Mangalore-Bangalore passenger train.The mishap occurred when Chandrahas was crossing the track after parking his bike close by. The head of Chandrahas was separated from the the body.
Meanwhile there is a suspicion that he might have committed suicide as he was suffering from ill health since some time. Locals have a strong doubt in this regard. Still the exact cause of the death is not known.
Bantwal Rural Police and Mangalore Railway Police visited the spot.
