Mangalore, Nov 12:”The proposal for the construction of a fishing port at Kulai the government has sanctioned the amount of Rs 165.60 crore” said Mangalore North MLA Mohiuddin Bava.
Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday November 12 he said by sanctioning the amount the govt. has made a long-awaited dream come true of the fishing community. The total estimation for this project stands at Rs 165.60 crore, out of which the central government will fund Rs 124.20 crore (75%), the New Mangalore Port Trust will fund Rs 33.12 crore (20%) and the state government will fund Rs 8.28 crore (5%),” he said.
He also said that the estimations for the project has been discussed at the meeting held under the leadership of state fisheries Minister K Abhaychandra Jain, NMPT officials and the fisheries department.
He further said that 9.57 acre of land is required for this project and the survey has been also carried out.Various other minor projects with connected to the fisheries department have has been sanctioned and will be carried out soon.
The land for the construction of fish and vegetable markets been notified in Kulur and Kavoor regions. A building has been taken on rent has been located near the Suratkal Railway Station for the establishment of RTO.
The Funds have also been sanctioned for the construction and repair of roads works coming under my constituencies, he said.
