Mangalore, Nov. 15: “Pandith Jawaharlal Nehru played an important role in the freedom struggle of India. After becoming the first Prime Minister of India, Nehru established many industries and showed the strength of the nation to the world,” said J.R. Lobo, MLA.
He was speaking during Jawaharlal Nehru birth anniversary celebration organised by Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee at party office on Thursday, November 14.
Ibrahim Kodijal, acting president, district Congress presided over the function. Ivan D’Souza, secretary, KPCC spoke on the occasion.
K. Ashraf, former mayor, Jacintha Vijaya Alfred, Keshav Maroli, Sabitha Misquith, Shailaja, Abdul Ravoof, Najeer Bajal, Prabhakar Shriyan, Narayan Kotyan, Hilda Alva, Prem Chand, Tejaswi Raj, Kruthin Kumar, Shashiraj Ambat, Manuraj and others were present on the occasion.
