Karkala: Variety government facilities distribution ceremony; cabinet decision to give kumki rights to farmers-minister Sorake

Sorake-karkala-1Karkala; Nov 16: In the back drop of agricultural activities diminishing, in view of encouraging farmers, government will be giving more encouragement to farmers.

Besides, important decision on giving rights to kumki will also be taken in the cabinet meeting said Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge.

He further said that in view of showing transparency and efficiency in state government’s governance, the programmes are being implemented near to people and thereby people can avoid visiting government offices unnecessarily and waste their precious time.

Across udupi district around 8500 thousand benefactors will be distributed various facilities.Today around 1353 benefactors will be distributed around Rs 75 lac compensation, he said

Besides,75 % of the areca nut crops has been destroyed due to rotten disease and government has decided to give Rs 12,000 per hectare and memorandum has been forwarded to central  government for increased compensation and once it is passed, farmers will be given Rs 25,000 compensation per hectare.

The rural people, who have been living in government land for more than 15 years, the rectifications, corrections in Form No 94 C will be done shortly and will be implemented. Besides for the clearance of Akrama-Sakrama, a separate committee will be formed and ensure that unclear applications will be cleared soon.

He said that in order to prevent indiscriminate and illegal conversion of agricultural land into commercial lands, high court has passed 9/11 decree and due to this people residing in the rural region were facing problems in conversion even for their personal purpose. In view of removing these restrictions, it will be decided to use 11A for registration in urban area region and 11B for registration in rural region respectively and power of conversion will be given to tahsildar.
