Mangalore, Nov. 16: ‘Nandini cashew barfi’ and ‘Nandini 5 litre Ghee jar’ have been launched to the market by Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited at Kulshekar, Mangalore to commemorate its founder’s day, on Saturday Nov. 16.
Daksina Kannada district in charge minister B. Ramnath Rai was the chief guest and launched the products.
In his speech he said that “Farmers were kept away from banks even after the nationalization. The economic condition prevailing in rural areas is due to the cooperative movement. In our country we should give more importance to value and processing of the products. By doing this the products can reach the customer unspoiled and also can make the farmers strong. So the co operative organizations should work hard and also the more service should reach the people.
“More than 30 percent of farmers in India are backward and not able to get government benefits. It is resulting in decrease in processing and preserving of farm products,” he said. ‘Ksheera Bhagya’ scheme was started to promote dairying in rural areas and now it has given good result in rural empowerment, he added.
Ramanath Rai inaugurated the third floor of the administrative office and new maicon compriser package of freezing unit.
President of D.K. district central co-operative bank M.N. Rajendra Kumar launched the Ghee in 5 ltr. Jar.
