Mangalore, Nov. 23: The chairman of the Karavali group of Institutions, Ganesh Rao inaugurated the District’s 8th Chutuku Sahitya Sammelana and state level poetry recitation at Sri Mangaladevi Kala Mantapa of the Mangalaldevi temple, here on Saturday Nov. 23.
In his inaugural address he said “Onlythrough the literature it is possible for a literate to love the society. The Chutuku Sahitya is like the pickle to add taste to the meal. This will not only adds variety to the literature but also creates new attraction for the younger generation towards the literature.
Minister for health UT Khader said “In the past, revolutions have occurred through literature and if it is to be used in the right manner, then it has the power to bring citizens together and thus build the nation.”
Karnataka State Chutuku Sahitya Parishad members MG Arus, District president Ira Nemu Poojari, B Purandar Bhat and other office bearers were present at the occasion.
As a part of the programme poetry recitation, discussion, book exhibition and felicitation function was held.
