Mangalore, Nov 28: The main duty of a teacher is to finding the solution immediately for a problem. It is possible when one has passion towards his job said Philomena Lobo, Joint Director, CTW, Mangalore.
After inaugurating ‘Educational Conference of Teachers’ organised by Dakshina Kannada district High School Headmasters and composite pre-university college Principals’ Association at Rosario cultural hall here on Wednesday Nov. 27 she spoke.
She said that around 80 headmasters’ posts were vacant and filling the vacancies was not an easy task. “Education must aim at building the character of a student. Teachers have to take the responsibility of shaping the future of the students. Satisfaction is the outcome of a student’s success,” she said.
In his keynote address, Vasanth Shetty National award winning headmaster, said, “Media, which had to be a tool of social awareness, has lost its ethics. Children are being misguided by social networking sites and media. Media has failed to follow its ethics,” he said.
The retired headmasters and lecturers who received doctorate degrees were felicitated in the programme.
Karnataka state head teacher’s association president Rev. A, Lorence D’Souza presided over the function. Zone educational instructor Sadananda Poonja, Secretary K. Gangadhar Alva were present.
