Karkala; Dec 01: Participating as a guest of honor in the Jangameshwara Yakshagana Kala Sangha’s second annual day stage programmers, held on behalf of Kaduhole Jangameshwara Mutt’s Karthika Deepotsava, a renowned, famous litterateur Ambathanaya Mudrady said in his address that singing a prayer or hymn (Bhajans) and Yakshagana (a kind of folkplay) are God’s eyes of lights and origin of each arts is temples, he said.

He further said that the religious centers, where service of serving food (Annadhana) and Yakshagana is being held continuosly, that place is heading towards prosperity and progress.

Yakshagana, being the famous art of the lights, should be preserved and protected and to be introduced to the next generation. In this context, Jangameshwara Yakshagana Kala Sangha is continuously striving to save and preserve the art, which is highly laudable, he said.

Brahmavar Balakrishna Nayak, a senior and veteran artist has been felicitated on behalf of Sangha on the occasion.

Chief Guest like Chiranjithu Ajila, temples trustee, entrepreneur Jaya Shetty were present.Raghavendra Bhat, Chief priest of Jangameshwara Mutt, has presided over the programme.

After the stage programme was over, ‘Jaambhavathi Kalyana and Veera Vrishasena’, historical Yakshagana was exhibited by the members of Yakshagana Sangha.

Smt.Shambhavi welcomed the guests, Udaya Prabhu compered the programme.
