Mangalore, Dec 9: “The crime committed by my husband cannot be forgiven at all. He made to death two innocent children, my sister and my mother. With the pain my father and brother committed suicide. The Judge has given a perfect verdict,” said Sundari who has been fighting for justice standing against her husband Ramesh Naik, over the last three years.

Sundari wife of Ramesh Naik, a bank manager who has been sentence to death for killing his two children, sister-in-law and mother–in-law in 2010, was happy with the verdict of court.

On December 3, Puttur fifth additional sessions court sentenced Ramesh Naik with a death penalty for killing his two children Bhuvan (8) and Krithika (4), along with his wife’s sister and mother-in-law.

Till now Sundari never came out in open and made a statement in this regard. However, on Saturday Sundari spoke about the case at Puttur press club and expressed her happiness over the verdict and said that she had fought against Ramesh despite several threats from him.

Sundari told the illegal relationship between her husband and her sister responsible for series of killings.

“My sister herself revealed about this relationship to me. I took transfer and came over to Mangalore, while Savita went on to work in Provident Fund office, Tumkur. She was living in our residence in Tumkur. Savita had conceded to me that Ramesh was torturing her and was also bad mouthing about her with her officers,” said Sundari.

“My sister did not reveal to me anything else probably scaring a reaction from me and I too did not suspect anything here. However, Ramesh’s objection to one Mohan coming forward to marry Savita kindled some suspicion in me,” she said adding that Ramesh started torturing Savita after this proposal came up.

Sundari said that she had even told Ramesh to keep himself away from Savita’s matters because her parents and brother were capable of taking care of the issue.

“However, one day a neighbour from Tumkur informed me that Ramesh was at our Tumkur residence with Savita. When he returned I confronted and after initial denial he confessed to have visited Tumkur. When I questioned my sister about this, she revealed a shocking truth that Ramesh was taking advantage of her by threatening her,” Sundari revealed adding that Ramesh’s nature and love towards family made Sundari believe him blindly.

“Because of his relationship with me and love for children, I had never seen this cruel face of his,” she said. She recalled that after marriage they were together for about one and half year and due to professional commitments they had to stay separate.
