Kundapur; Dec 13: As a result of an accident between Qualis car and a lorry, reported near Trassi-Maravanthe beach on Dec 12, Thursday late night, one man from Sullia origin reportedly died and another man sustained injuries.
It was said that after dropping Swamiji to Gokharna, the Qualis car which was plying towards Mangalore hit a lorry resulting the death of Udaya Kumar, aged 42, Buntwal origin and a priest of Manchi Manthi Maru Durgaparameshwari temple. He got severe hit on his head. The impact of the accident was such that Udaya Kumar was trapped inside the car and volunteers of Gangolli helpline brought him outside of the car and was admitted in Kundapur hospital but breathed his last as he was in critical condition.
The other passenger, Mangalore origin, Doctor Kishan Kumar, Sullia, who was traveling with the deceased, was escaped with minor injuries and bruises. The police personnel are conducting intensive search for the lorry, which has disappeared from the place of the accident.
Diwakar P.M, Kundapur circle inspector, Sampath Kumar, police inspector, Gangolli police station visited the accident place and registered a case in this regard. Investigation is in progress.
