Mangalore, Jan 10, 2014: The issue of the kidnap, forced sex and blackmail in Derlakatte case are being communalized and create rifts between communities by the political parties for the publicity, said Prof Narendra Nayak, founder of Dakshina Kannada Rationalist Association.
Speaking at the press meet held at his residence on Jan 10, Friday, he said that the crime which was made by an organized gang, who are also involved in various other crimes are now given a communal colour by the people who were not present during the incident took place.
Nayak also said that the outfits have alleged that the male victim in the case has been involved with the accused since they belong to same community, whereas the male victim had undergone physical and mental trauma by the kidnappers, he added.
He also said that his involvement with the gang would be revealed during the interrogation with gang. The male victims had even given the statement before the police and judicial magistrate about the incident, but due to the physical injury, he had to be hospitalized.
Asha Nayak said that police cannot be blamed in the case, since they had taken action against the accused immediately and arrested them on the same day.
