2 luxury cruise vessels at NMPT: more than 2500 tourists on board(update)

Mangalore, April 14: It has been reported that 2 luxury vessels, M.V.Legend of the seas and M.V.Pacific Princes called at New Mangalore Port on April 13, Saturday.

This is the third and fourth vessel calling at the port during the beginning of the current financial year 2013-2014.The next vessel is expected to call at NMPT   on 15.04.2013, it said.

Legend of the seas with total passengers of more than 2500 on board from 40 nations came from Phucket (an Island in Thailand).

Around 2000 passengers  including crew opted out for ground tour arranged by one of the local tour operators in the city and they have visited various locations in and around Mangalore like Mangaladevi temple,Gokarnatha temple,St.Aloysis Chappel,Cashew processing units, Monolithic statue of lord Bahubali at Karkala,Soans farm and 1000 pillar Jain Basadi,Moodbidri,city shopping centre etc.

After enjoying the scenic beauty of Mangalore, the passengers returned to the vessel and sailed out to Goa.

Dr.P.Tamilvanan, Chairman along with Traffic Manager and Deputy Traffic Manager welcomed the vessels by presenting bouquets to the Captains.

A press release from NMT said the captain and passengers of the vessel were very much impressed by the world class facilities available at the Cruise Lounge, neat and tidy berth area, security arrangements, emigration facilities and clean road in and around the port and expressed their satisfaction over their short stay at Mangalore and said they enjoyed the tourist places.
