Mangalore, Jan 18: The Citizens Forum for Mangalore Development launched a signature campaign ‘Namma Neeru’ in front of DC office on Jan 18, Saturday against the privatization of water in the state.
Addressing the demonstrators, district convenor of the forum Ganesh Kadari said that the month-long campaign has been launched with an intention to collect one lakh signatures from public against the privatization of water and submit it to the Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on Feb 10.
The campaigners demanded to stop privatization of water in all its forms in the state and enactment of new law to provide water security to the state.
Activist Vidya Dinker and many others participated in the demonstration.
