Karkala; Jan 18: In an incident, wherein a student, who has gone for swimming along with his friends as it was a declared holiday for the college met with watery grave on Jan 18,Saturday in Mala Chowki of Karkala taluk.
According to the sources, Prakash, aged 17, son of Nallur village Kariya Poojary, was the first year arts student of Bajagoli P.U.college.As holiday was declared to college on Jan 18, Saturday on account of SDMC president’s death, he along with his friends gone for swimming to enjoy in Mala Chowki river. Since he didn’t know swimming, he drowned in the river and met with watery grave, as reported to media by his fellow student.
A case was registered in Karkala rural police station in this regard.
