Karkala; Jan 21: After inaugurating the ‘Mudrady National Rangotsava-4’ by beating the Chende organized under the auspices of Mudrady Natkadhoor Namma Tuluver Kala sanghatane on Jan 19, Sunday, senior stage artist Gopalakrishna Naayari said in his address that theatre activities, cultural legacy and always lively drama theatre has become more influenced because of Yakshagana, he said.
He further said that in recent years, in the pretext of increasing sense of beauty, spectators have been deprived of their watching originality of the steps, seriousness of the dance, expression, he regretted and added that it is great that internationally recognized Yakshagana has got more regular audience than stage dramas. Appreciating the ‘Ranga Thapasu’ being running in drama institutions, he blessed to shine further Heggodu Neenasam, Sanehalliyanthe Natkadoor stage theatre, from stage schools.
Participating in the programme, Stage artist Dr.B.V.Rajaram, while blessing for the success said in his speech that the drama institution which is chasing the dreams in the path of efforts in a galloping speed, should flourish. Actor Abhayasimha, screen actress Rashmi Abhayasimha were present and extended their good wishes for the success.
Drama’s honorary president Dharmayogi Mohan blessed.Sukumara Mohan, president of drama institution welcomed the gathering and honored the chief guests. Stage artist Jagadish Jala compered the programme.Sudheendra Mohan proposed vote of thanks. The team members of drama sang Tulu theatre songs.
After the inaugural function’All the best’ Kannada drama directed by Yashwanth Sardeshpande of Guru Institution, Hubli was staged.
