Mangalore, Jan 27: A 20 year old medical student was killed in a road accident, when his Bullet bike collided against the road divider after hitting the road hump at Bejai Kapikad on January 26, Sunday.
The deceased is identified as Akshay Godi hailing from Bagalkot. Akshay is pursuing his education in Bangalore Medical College and has arrived Mangalore to participate in the old students’ reunion day.
In the incident, pillion rider Sanjeev H Gowda (20), student of Adichunchanagiri Medical College hailing from Hassan had sustained injuries. The duos had been to city on Jan 25 and were staying with a friend at Kuntikan.
According to the sources, Akshay lost control over his bike while riding on the hump, due to which his bike had rammed into divider injuring seriously. Although he was rushed to the hospital, he had breathed his last on the way.
Traffic (West) police have registered a case.
