Udupi; Jan 28: Health officials raided a clinic, which was owned by Nagaveni alias Swapna Shakeer claimed to be the doctor but happened to be a fake was caught red handed on Jan 27, Monday.
According to the sources, so called doctor Swapna was practicing as a doctor and prescribing patients in the surrounding area of Paduthonse, Kemmannu for the last eight years.
Sources also said that Swapna had opened her clinic by producing fake documents with health authorities and was extending health service to the people in the region. The health officials, who raided her clinic on Jan 27, Monday found that she did not possess valid degree certificate required for running the clinic.
A complaint was registered against the doctor for cheating and prescribing medicine and also cheating the health authorities by running a clinic without valid registration in Malpe police station by Dr.Ramchandra Bayari, health and family development board officer.
