Mangalore, Feb 4: The VHP and Bajrang Dal staged a protest in front of DC Office on February 3,Monday against Barke police officials for ill treating a Bajrang Dal activist Manoj.
Addressing the protest, Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell said that Barke police had taken Manoj into custody in connection with the assault on Muneer at KC Road on January 21. But the officials went against the law and system and electrocuted an innocent person who had been struggling to protect our religion and the culture. Hence the VHP and Bajrang Dal condemn this brutal and inhuman treatment of Manoj.
He also said that the police officials have never given such kind of treatment to accused of the gruesome crime in Deralakatte (forced sex case). He also urged the police commissioner take action against the two constables Sunil and Isaac for giving third degree treatment got Manoj and suspend them for their inhuman treatment.
Jagadish Shenava, district secretary of VHP, VHP secretary Gopal Kuthar, Krishnamurthy, and Bhujanga Kulal were present.
