Karkala; Feb 05: After inaugurating the congress workers conference held in Karkala Bandimata Rama Bhavana, Vinaya Kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge said in his address that by putting the banners, cut-outs of Narendra Modi across the district, he is being projected in such a way that he has already become the prime minister. Don’t listen to false propaganda and elect the congress by informing the people about the pro-people’s achievements of state and central government.
He further said that as far as development is concerned our state stands at 10th position as against Gujarat’s placing of 12th position. But the BJP people of this region are carrying the dream of Modi type state here. But by imitating Gujarat, there is no need of moving back as far as development is concerned. Over the past 9 years that government has not appointed Lokayukta. Now through governor of the state, Lokayukta was appointed in Gujarat, he said.
Continuing his address, he said that it is the tradition of BJP to misguide the people during election period and asking for the vote. Recently in Chikamaglur by placing the head of pig near Mosque, tried to disturb the communal harmony. In this connection, one Rajashekar was arrested. His wife is member of BJP municipal council. Now it has become public with this incident, how people are being deceived by BJP just for the sake of votes, he reiterated.
While speaking K.Jayaprakash Hegde,challenged BJP by saying that if BJP produce the copy of the affidavit submitted to court by state and central government with regard to ban on areca nut as alleged by them,’I am prepared to resign’. Otherwie, will the BJP leaders, who are telling lies ready to resign for their respective posts? He questioned. Contribution of D.V.Sadananda Gowda, who was the MP of Udupi-Chikamagalur constituency for three, is zero and that is why he has been distanced by the people and now he is trying to contest from different constituencies, he said.
Former MLA Gopala Bhandary while speaking said that when D.V.Sadananda Gowda was the chief minister, he has announced the package of Rs 25 crore for the development of Karkala. But because of the pressure from the current legislators, he withdrew his announcement. There was an evil purpose behind this withdrawal that if the Karkala town is progressed, Congress will benefit out of it.But now since our government is there in the state, nobody can impede us from going ahead and’I shall try my level best ‘for the development of Karkala, he said.
