Kundapur: Feb 11: After receiving confirmed information about the gambling being played near Maravanthe’s Trassi village’s Trassi beach in Gara Gara Mandala, Kundapur police under the leadership of Kundapur circle inspector Divakar P and employees raided the place and took 7 gamesters under their custody as they were trying to run away from the spot. However three people have been absconded.
The arrested have been identified as Megharaja Shetty (53) resident of Ullur,Gangolli resident Chetan Kharvi (24) Hosad village’s Gopala (40) Riyaz (29) resident of Maravanthe Village’s Gandhi Nagar,Nagur Kelahithlu’s Ganapati Mogaveera (25) resident of Maravanthe Village’s Yaksheshwari temple’s behind Prashanth Kharvi (26) Nagur’s Dinesh Devadiga (24)
Residents of Gangolli village’s Aslam, Mohan, and Yusuf were the accused, who escaped from the police.
Police have recovered from the accused Rs 2820,which they kept for playing in Gara Gara Mandala, old papers-2,candles-4,Torch-1,Gara Gara Mandala coconut-3,a small box-1.
A case has been registered in Gangolli Police station in this regard.
