Bantwal, Feb 27: State Forest minister and District in charge minister B Ramanath Rai said that in order to provide permanent rehabilitation centre for the endosulfan victims, the state government has established two centres at Kokkada and Kola and further the government is planning to set up six additional centres in the district.
He was speaking after distributing stipend letter to the endo victims held at Lions Mandir, Manchi jointly organized by DK District administration, DK Zilla Panchayath and Health and Family Welfare department.
Rai also said that the concerned authorities will conduct the survey of endosulfan victims from March 1 and the eligible victims will be provided with government facilities.
DC A B Ibrahim said that out of 2479 endo victims, 2189 have been issued with ID cards and rest of the victims can get the cards from their respective Gram Panchayath.
Mohammed Peer, member of Endo victim’s action committee briefed about the struggle they faced to get noticed for the government facilities.
District Nodal officer Dr Arun Kumar, Manchi Gram Panchayath president Sripathi Rao, ZP member M S Mohammed, T P member Lavina D’Souza, assistant commissioner Prashanth, Tashildhar Malleswamy and others were present.
