Mangalore, Mar 18: Janardhana Poojari, senior congress leader and DK candidate for Lok Sabha elections, has been booked for violation of election code of conduct.
On March 17, Monday, The Election Officer has filed a suo moto complaint against Poojari for derogatory remarks against BJP PM Candidate Narendra Modi. The incident took place during the Padayatra taken out by the congress in Moodbidri on March 16, Sunday.
Poojari launched a scathing attack on Modi saying “can Modi handle the nation when he has failed to manage his marital life?” The statement was recorded by the sector officers and the video clipping was monitored by the Assistant Election Officer who considered it as a violation of the poll code and filed a complaint.
Santhosh Shetty, a corporator of Navi Mumbai had challenged RSS to reveal Modi’s father’s name at the same meeting, a similar complaint has also been lodged against him.
