Udupi, Mar 26: Sitting MP Jayaprakash Hegde, Congress candidate for Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency has filed nomination on March 26, Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters later, Hegde said the party workers are united and are confident of winning. He predicted a win by a margin of nearly one lakh votes.
“I have been in touch with the people of my constituency and have responded to their demands. I am confident that they will support me,” Hegde struck a note of optimism.
Senior leaders including Union Minister Oscar Fernandes, Chikmagalur District Congress President DL Vijaykumar and Motamma were present when Hegde filed his nomination papers to Deputy Commissioner Muddumohan.
