Mangalore, March 29: The jail inmantes of district prison had a great time hearing the importance of peace in the society at a personality development programme ‘Vikasana’ organised by the Students of the Department of Mass communication and Journalism of St Aloysius College jointly with the State Prisons Department held at prison on March 28, Friday.
Participating as the chief guest, noted writer and humorist Bhuvaneshwari Hegde said that there is need to attain peace, which is the key goal in society and work towards spreading love and peace not hatred.
She also said that there are many people in society who can laugh, but lack the ability to make others laugh.
She also urged the prison inmates to develop wisdom and act according to their conscience which will lead them on the right path.
Jail Superintendent Ramesh PS spoke on the occasion.
Retired medical officer Dr Rajaram Shenoy, Lecturer in Department of Mass Communication Lakshmi Shenoy and others were present.
A dance programme held after the formal inauguration enthralled the jail inmates.
