Mangalore, Apr 3: The Mulky police, who are investigating the death of Avinash Poojary (21) near Pavanje on national highway 66, have found that Avinash’s lover is involved in his murder.
It is learnt that through the investigation, the police have found crucial information through Avinash’s SMS records, which proves that Avinash was in love with Sushma Prescilla (21), daughter of Maben, residing at Paddayibail in Kolachikambla near Mulky for over three years.
But Harish, who fell in love with Sushma in the recent past, had hit Avinash’s bike by a Tata Sumo vehicle driven by him and announced dead before giving any medical assistance and police had to register the case of accident initially.
During the investigation after Avinash’s father complained of murder, the police found that Avinash had exchanged several SMS’s and studied that Avinash was killed through systematic plan with the help of her present lover Harish (20), to execute this crime.
According to the sources, Avinash visited the call centre in Mangalore on March 31 where Sushma worked and had created a scene. Later her office executives, who had checked her cell phone, found that Avinash used to message her and was dismissed from the job at midnight on the same day, which increased anger against Avinash in her.
Sushma immediately called Harish and planned to eliminate him and Harish acted the same followed by her instruction, said senior police officer.
Officials also revealed that prior to the murder plan, Harish had slept at Suratkal bus stand the whole night and knocking down Avinash who was waiting with his motor bike near Pavanje and stayed in his friend’s house and the duo had planned to run away after the murder.
Although Sushma had destroyed the SIM card of the mobile phone after collecting it from Harish, police had succeed in tracing the SIM records on time, which was a strong evidence of the murder plan.
Police have arrested both Sushma and Harish and produced them before the court on Wednesday, where they were remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.
After conducting the post mortem at Wenlock Hospital, body of Avinash was consigned to flames near his home in Bola village.
