Mangalore, April 11: The district administration on April 10, Thursday has filed a suo moto complaint against BJP leader Ananth Kumar and DK BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel for violating model code of conduct.
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer AB Ibrahim the case was filed during an interaction programme conducted by the duo with students of NITK, Suratkal.
Apart from it, the commission has asked NITK Director to give an explanation, in this regard.
The tally of votes will be displayed every hour on a notice board outside each 1766 polling booths in the district this time. The district administration have taken steps to ensure basic facilities like drinking water, toilets electricity and ramp for physically disabled in all polling booths, he said.
DC also informed that 367 polling stations in DK will have webcasting facilities on a trial basis and 400 students from 17 engineering colleges will render their support, he added.
