Kasargod, May 19: A mechanical engineering student of Sri Devi Engineering College, Kenjaru committed suicide by jumping into stagnant water in a quarry in Karambar.
Shashikumar (25), from Kokkada, Shishila is the deceased sudent. It is learnt that failure in several subjects is the reason for him to go for this act.
His body was found yesterday May 19, in the nearby quarry where he used to go and study. The spot was near to his rented house where he lived in with other students.
It is also learnt that Shashikumar tried to hang himself in the room he resided but it was prevented by his roommates. There after he disappeared from the area and jumped into the water. His parents and siblings lived at Shishila, where his father worked in a bank.
Bajpe police have booked a case and the investigation is on process.
