Restaurants inspected by MCC officials, Issue notices to four

Mangalore, May 29: Four restaurants, out of eight were issued notices when the MCC health officials on Thursday May 29 made a surprise visit to the restaurants in the city to inspect the cleanliness and the health of workers.

Several restaurants were inspected by the team lead by Dr A Manjayya Shetty, environmental engineer S M Madhu, Yashwanth and Karunakar.

The officials first visited Indra Bhavan at Balmatta and after inspection, issued a notice for not fulfilling requirements as stipulated by the health department. Then they visited Hotel New Swagath, and noted that it was clean and tidy. They next visited SCS hospital canteen and noticed that the roof was open at some parts and suggested the canteen owner to cover the open areas with net and also said to tile the floor which was in a state of disrepair. Later on their visit, Hotel Shuchi and Hotel Ruchi were issued one week’s notice.

Other restaurants like Hao Hao, Dolphin Bar and Restaurant, and Hotel Shivbagh were given clean chit.
