Intermittent rainfall in Dakshina Kannada

Mangalore: The monsoon has intensified across Dakshina Kannada district. The region received intermittent rainfall on Friday.

In the last 24 hours, Mangalore taluk received the highest of 67.9 mm rainfall followed by Bantwal (63.5 mm), Moodbidri (53.4 mm), Belthangady (49.6 mm), Puttur (35.2 mm) and Sullia (13.8 mm).

Following heavy rain, the compound wall of a house collapsed at Jeppubappal in Mangalore, and a stormwater drain developed cracks in Suralpady in Kaikamba. Sea erosion too has intensified in Ullal in Dakshina Kannada and Thottam, Marvanthe, Tenka Yermal, Gangolli, Shiroor, Udyavara Kanakoda, Malpe, Trasi, Bada Yermal, Hoode, Kota-Mannur, Kundapur Kodi, Shiroor Dombe and Kalihithlu in Byndoor.

Kodagu experienced drizzle. Madikeri, Napoklu, Sampaje, Bhagamandala, Virajpet, Srimangala Shanthalli and other surrounding areas received moderate rain.
