Problems of DK, Udupi districts to be studied and solved by BJP panel

Mangalore, July 05: A 40 member committee has been formed by BJP to study the problems faced by Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts and suggest solutions for the same after a comprehensive study, said Shobha karandlaje at a BJP press meet on July 5.

Shobha, speaking to reporters at the District BJP office said, “The Committee will also elicit the views of the people. The problems faced by the two district are almost  the same and added all out efforts would be made to ensure that  there is a balanced development while laying due emphasis on environment protection.”

The MP hinted at plans to relax CRZ rules to help fisheries sector. She further spoke about the plans to have a Fisheries University in the city. On the issue of sea erosion, Shobha said the problem has been recurring every year with only boulders dumped to find a temporary solution. She said a sum of Rs 60 crores to Rs 70 crores would be released by the Centre to the state every year to find a permanent solution to the problem.
