Mangalore, Jul 11: An accident occured at Kulur here on Friday July 11, the driver of the car tried to escape but the locals chased and caught the driver at Padavinangady, Bondel.
The driver of the Alto car, identified as Ashfaque, reportedly rammed into a two-wheeler at Kulur, injuring the rider.
The car driver escaped without stopping his vehicle, locals who witnessed the accident chased him all the way till Padavinangady. He was caught and handed over to Kavoor police.
Meanwhile, the injured two-wheeler rider was taken to hospital by a Mahindra vehicle which was at the spot at the time of the accident.
The story took a strange turn when the injured escaped as soon as he got out of the vehicle, without even getting medical treatment. It is suspected that the two-wheeler he was riding may have been stolen, and hence he escaped in order to avoid police questioning.
Panambur police have taken the Alto car into possession.
