Mangalore, July 16: Special Pooja and religious rituals were performed at the famous Hosanadu Kodyadka Goddess Annapoorneshwari Temple near Moodbidri to appease the Goddess and get from her the boon of good health for the Sultan of Oman, Qaboos Bin Saiyd. The temple was built by a non-resident Indian entrepreneur.
Qaboos bin Saiyd Al Saiyd, The Sultan of Oman, is now bedridden on account of different health problems. Praying for his good health, Chandika Mahayaga, mass prayers, and other religious procedures were performed at Kodyadka temple in the presence of hundreds of devotees on Sunday afternoon.
Kodyadka Jayaram Hegde, a non-resident Indian entrepreneur, is the founder trustee of this temple. The business concerns being run by him have interests in the Gulf region. He strongly believes that performing prayers and other procedures as per Indian culture and traditions, and seeking blessings of the Goddess will bring improvement in the health condition of the Sultan of Oman.
The Prasadam which is obtained after performing prayers and following the religious rituals at the temple, will soon be sent by flight to Oman, for being delivered to the Sultan there, it is said.
Former trustee of Mundkoor Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple, Jagadishchandra Hegde, Mittabail Vasudeva Nayak, Anadka Dinesh Kumar, and hundreds of devotees were present on the ocassion.
