Mangalore, Aug 05: The members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajarangdal and other associations in Mangalore and Surathkal staged protests demanding withdrawal of compensation granted to Kabir who was killed by ANF personnel on April 19.
As relief fund, Moideen Bava, MLA, Mangalore North, recently handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lac to Kabir’s family. Opposing this, Bajarangdal staged a protest near DC office on Monday evening, meanwhile BJP party members staged a protest at Surathkal.
Addressing the protestors, Dinesh Pai Kateel, leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad stated “It is clear that Kabir, who was killed in ANF shootout at Sringeri on April 19, and his companions were involved in cattle trafficking. The government must take back the compensation amount immediately. Mohiuddin Bava, being a people’s representative has been supporting illegal cattle traders.”
The members also submitted memorandum to the DC with this regard.
