Mangalore,aug.08: The new board of office bearers of Infosys Toastmasters led by Sridevi Tantry as president was installed during a simple installation ceremony held at Mangalore SEZ, Infosys Kottara campus on Friday, 29th July, 2014.
Infosys Toastmasters is a corporate club meant exclusively for the employees of Infosys Technologies, Mangalore to enable the members to gain public speaking and leadership skills.
Toastmasters Area Governor Shashikant Mangalore administered the oath to the new board, which has the following composition: Sridevi Tantry (President), Mayank Kulshreshtha (Secretary), Vedanth (Vice President – Education), Thangamma and Rajan (Vice President – Public Relations), Anusha (Vice President – Membership), Rajat (Treasurer) and Kimmi (Sergeant-At-Arms).
Felicitating the new team, Bharathi Shevgoor, representing Winners Club Toastmasters observed: “It’s easy to be a leader when the going is good. A true leader is the one who can ably steer the ship when the seas are rough.”
In her acceptance speech, the new president of the club Sridevi Tantry said: “Today every piece of information is readily available, and everything is out there in the open. Hence it is very difficult to find originality. Even more difficult to find, is originality that inspires. That is where Toastmasters has a role to play for us.” With these opening lines, the incoming President promised to take the club to new and greater heights.
The immediate past President Rajat Shetty appreciated his board for inducting 16 new members into the club and for doing a spectacular job in the past year.
Toastmasters Malini Hebbar, Samina Nayak, Savitha Salian, Shivani Baliga from the parent club Winners Club Toastmasters were also present on the occasion
