Kundapur: The public have appreciated the traffic cops of Kundapur for initiating special steps to provide safety and security to the passengers, students and women against the harassment taking place in the state every now and then.
Buses coming towards kundapur form the rural areas during early hours are overcrowded since the people travel to office, schools, colleges and work places. Due to which the women and female students were facing a lot of inconveniences. In this regard the traffic police had received several letters and the cops have taken a bold step to root out this problem.
Details about the rule: Cops have begun a new campaignstating that alike the city rules, separate seats will be provided for the women passengers and the front door would be used only by the women to board the bus. This rule will be brought into force in the areas coming under the police station limits of Kundapur. Women will board the bus through the front door where as men will be refrained from the front door. Students along with the publics are found to travel clinging at the foot boards of the bus and in order to check this, the cops have started their campaign. The cops during their ‘SPECIAL DRIVE’ conducted during morning and evenings are instructing the driver and conductor of such overcrowded buses.
Since the past four five days, the buses are checked and instructions are given to the public’s seated in the ladies seat, the persons clinging at the foot board as well as the men standing at the front portion of the bus. It is observed that the publics are responding positively. The cops have already started their campaign at various places including Beejady, Kumbashi, Koteshwara, Basruru Moorukai, Tallur and Kundapura.
Positive Response: The locals as well as the women and college girls have expressed their gratitude towards the newly adopted rules by the traffic police.
To be noted:
Where there is no secure place for a girl student now a day, it is appreciable that the Kundapur cops have adopted measures to check such activities taking place in buses says Ms Akshata (A college Student).
Such kind of intolerable events take place in our society where women are highly respected. In order to avoid such inconveniences in the buses, men seated in ladies seat and standing in the front must be checked. In addition to this, publics are found clinging over the foot board which must be checked as a safety measure stated the Kundapur Traffic police ASI Mr Imran K.S.
