Kundapur, Aug 16: Udupi SP Rajendra Prasad inaugurated the police control and women and child helpline in association with Lions Club, at Shastri Circle on Aug 15, Sunday.
Speaking after inauguration, he said that police department is using modern technology to tackle criminal cases and also to check the increase in assault on women and children.
SP also said that, police department will take up people- friendly activities and will always look for people’s suggestion and help. He also said that police department is creating an atmosphere for the public to openly reveal the problems they are facing. The public and various organizations must help the police department to make Udupi District as a peaceful district by rendering support and co-operation.
There is a need to create awareness among the crimes taking place in the society. This will further help many families to live in peace.
Presiding over the event, AC Yogishwar said it is the responsibility of every people to maintain peace and harmony and also to check crimes in the society and not only wait for the police department to perform their duties.
Additional SP Santhosh Kumar, Kundapur DySP C B Patil, Tashildar Gayatri Nayak, Town Municipal president U S Kalavathi, Lion’s Club president Dr Balakrishna Shetty participated as the chief guests.
Kundapur Circle Inspector Diwakar, welcomed the guests and gathering. Hussain Haikady compered the programme and Police Sub inspector Nasir Hussain proposed vote of thanks.
