Mangalore, August 20: On Wednesday, August 20th; a huge shipment of red sandal wood (32 tonnes) covered as detergent was smuggled out from India to Sri Lanka was called back by the officials of NMPT.
It is gathered that on August 1st the consignment came from Bangalore was shipped to Sri Lanka. The Mangalore officials grew suspicious and hence the consignment which had already reached Sri Lanka was called back.
It has been revealed from the investigations that the shipment contained sandal wood.
