Karkala, Aug 25: Due to the family problem, four person of a family including two children allegedly committed suicide at their residence located at Garigudde, Mudaru in Bajagoli on August 25, Monday.
The deceased are identified as Jayamadivala (43), Gulabi Madivalthi (33), Harshita (6) and Manvith (3).
Reportedly, Jayamadivala, a coolie worker by profession was addicted to alcohol. Due to this there was frequent fight seen within the family.
According to neighbours, on Sunday August 24 a serious fight erupted in the family making the situation worse.
When Jayamadivala returned home for lunch on Monday afternoon, he found his wife and children missing. Tensed Jayamadivala went in search of his family members and found Harshita’s body floating in a nearby well. Getting desperate for losing his daughter Jayamadivala too jumped into the well and died.
Fire Service inspector Naveen retrieved the bodies from the well.
According to locals, Gulabi and her children might have committed suicide by jumping into the well at around 2 pm.
ASP Annamalai, circle inspector Naikar, Rural SI Mahadeva Shetty, Tahsildar Raghavendra and others arrived at the spot.
A case has been registered at Karkala rural police station.
