Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday reiterated his government’s resolve to take stringent action against those who disturb peace and communal harmony.

Replying to a question from presspersons regarding imposing a ban on Sri Rama Sene, Mr. Siddaramaiah said no specific organisation was being targeted.

“I have only said that stringent would be taken against those who indulge in breach of peace in society, and also who take law into their own hands in the name of moral policing. If necessary, we will book them under the Goonda Act,” he said.

Asked for his reaction to statements made by Shobha Karandlaje, Chikmaglur-Udupi MP, daring the government to ban the outfit, Mr. Siddaramaiah said it indicates the mindset of the people who speak on communal lines.
