The Dasara Gold Cards for 2014, conferring special benefits to cardholders, was released here on Monday.
Each card costs Rs. 7,500 and entails admittance to two adults and a child and will provide the cardholder seating at vantage points at cultural programmes during the Vijayadashami procession, and free entry to places of tourist interest. This includes the zoo, Jaganmohan Palace, Karanji Nature Park, Railway Museum, Chamundi Temple, Mysore palace, the Dasara Exhibition, Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary and Brindavan Gardens.
Each tourist will also get a brochure about the cultural events to be held from September 25 to October 4.
The cardholders will also have free access to the Torch Light Parade at Bannimantap Grounds. District in-charge Minister V. Srinivas Prasad and Minister for Cooperation H.S. Mahadev Prasad released the gold cards, which can also be purchased on www.mysoredasara.gov.in. The gold cards can also be purchased on www.ticketgenie.in. For details call 0821-2423800.
Dasara gold cards were launched as a means to mobilise resources by selling it to tourists and corporates when the government grant was about Rs. 3 crore to Rs. 5 crore. However, the grant has increased to over Rs. 10 crore.
