Health Minister U.T. Khader is set to fly to Cape Town, South Africa, to present Karnataka’s strides in rural health at the four-day ‘Third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research’ beginning on October 29.
He told presspersons here on Monday that he was the only Minister from India to have been given the honour. He will leave on October 28. However, he was yet to know the time and date of his speech, where he would talk about State’s efforts to ban gutka, among other issues.
According to the official website of the event, it will convene researchers, policy-makers and implementers from around the world to develop the field of health systems research and unleash their collective capacity to create, share and apply knowledge to strengthen health systems, towards the vision of globally connected health systems research and policy communities that contribute to the attainment of better health, equity and well-being.
