Bengaluru: Jyothi Uday (44), the bank manager who was attacked in an ATM kiosk at N.R. Square nearly a year ago, seems to have put the traumatic incident behind her.
She showed no sign of distress as she went about her work at Corporation Bank on Monday. “I am completely fine and doing well,” she said. Ms. Uday, who was working in the service branch of the Corporation bank on Mission Road last year, was transferred to the Raja Rajeshwari Nagar branch after the incident.
The manager was attacked on the morning of November 19 last year when she went to the ATM kiosk, a few metres away from the Ulsoorgate police station. The assailant attacked her with a machete and forced her to withdraw cash and hand it over to him. It was a few hours before she was discovered lying in the ATM vestibule as the assailant downed the shutters before fleeing.
Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi now plans to reenergise efforts to nab the assailant who has been at large.
Several CCTV camera images of the assailant have been distributed but to no avail.
