Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Rural police have intensified the manhunt for suspects in the murder of Parvez Hamilton Khokhar, 70, a retired air commodore with the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (AS&TE) and chief test pilot for Light Combat Aircraft, who was found strangled at his home in a gated community off Hosur Road on Monday.
“Our teams are working hard but there is no progress yet,” said a senior police officer who is part of the investigation. The police continued to question the two security guards and also those who worked with the couple. They are also checking the telephone call details. “We may get some crucial leads once the forensic science report comes,” the police said.
The police believe the assailants were known to the family as the house is located in a gated community and it was not easy to gain entry as there were two guards on duty on Sunday night. There was no forceful entry and it was a cold-blooded murder, the police said, suspecting that the assailants wanted some important documents and hence, ransacked Khokhar’s room.
The assailants had tied Parvez’s hands and legs, strangled him with a dupatta before smothering him with a pillow. The incident emerged the next morning when his wife Pramila woke up. Her room was locked and she called morning walkers for help. She went into her husband’s room only to find him murdered.
