Mandya: An eight-year-old leopard, which was on the prowl in several villages in Pandavapura taluk of the district, was trapped near Chikkamarali village early on Wednesday.
Sources in the Forest Department said the big cat had been roaming in the surroundings of Edabetta and Chikkamarali for several months. It had killed a cow and a couple of goats. Following complaints, officials placed a cage near Edabetta and trapped it. “We plan to release the animal in Hanur forest range of Chamarajanagar district on Thursday,” a forest officer said.
