Bangalore, Sept 20, 2013: Top State BJP leaders on Friday met Governor H R Bhardwaj at Raj Bhavan and urged him to direct Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to dismiss Minister of State for Infrastructure Development and Information Santosh Lad from the Ministry for his alleged involvement in illegal mining activities.
A delegation comprising former chief ministers Jagadish Shettar and D V Sadananda Gowda, State BJP presidentPralhad Joshi, Party National General Secretary Ananth Kumar and others sought that Bhardwaj should immediately intervene and ensure that Lad is dropped from the Ministry.
Illegal mining
Lad, is a partner in the firm V S Lad and Sons which is allegedly involved in illegal mining activities as per the reports of the Lokayukta, they pointed out.
Earlier in the day, speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah ruled out dropping Lad from the Ministry.
