BANGALORE: Social activist SR Hiremath, who unearthed major scams including illegal mining in Karnataka state, said on Tuesday that Congress MLAs Roshan Baig and DK Shivkumar will be imprisoned one or the other day.
Reacting to media on chief minister Siddaramaih decision to include Roshan Baig and DK Shivkumar to his cabinet, Hiremath said that it is a nasty decision. “Both are accused of illegal activities. Shivkumar allegedly indulged in illegal mining while Roshan Baig was alleged to be a prime accused in fake multi crore stamp paper racket by joining hands with Abdul Lal Karim Telgi,” he said.
He added that Siddaramaiah has thrown Rahul Gandhi’s statement to wind. “Rahul had said that party will not give minister berth to accused persons. But what is happening now is sheer shameful act,” he said.
Meanwhile another Congress leader said “Roshan Baig is blackmailing Congress high command. He is said to have threatened saying he shall flow his vote bank against to Congress in coming polls, if not given a minister berth,” he said.
