A private complaint was filed against Chickpet MLA R.V. Devaraj and the former BBMP Councillor T.V. Prabhu in the VI Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court on Saturday. The complainant, Madhuraj, has alleged that the duo created fake documents and usurped prime BBMP property on H. Siddaiah Road.
Madhuraj, in his complaint, has stated that 5,900 sqft of land registered in the names of R.V. Devaraj, his wife Mamatha Raj; and T.V. Prabhu and his wife Jyothi Rani in 2005 is actually BBMP property as the then Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) had acquired the property in 1976. It was acquired from the original land owner M.A. Krishnamurthy by BCC to lay a link road between H. Siddaiah Road and Krumbigal Road. Mr. Krishnamurthy was offered an alternate site. However, the link road project was dropped, but the land remained with the BCC.
The complainant has alleged that R.V. Devaraj and T.V. Prabhu created fake documents to show that M.A. Krishnamurthy sold the land to a man named Sabharwal, from whom they bought the same in 2005. At present, a hotel stands on the land.
The court referred the case to Kalasipalya police station for further inquiry. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against R.V. Devaraj and T.V. Prabhu for criminal conspiracy, forgery and landgrab.
