New Delhi: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena on Thursday circulated a cartoon sketched by party chief Raj Thackeray in which he took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Bhartiya Janata Party’s severe drubbing in the Delhi elections.
The illustration, set on the 9/11 terror attacks, shows a plane piloted by Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal crashing through the “twin towers” of Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.
“Once again the case of twin towers and the aircraft,” read the text on Raj’s cartoon pegging BJP’s debacle on how Modi had reportedly used US president Barack Obama’s visit for its campaign in Delhi.
This comes a day after Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray lashed out at the BJP for its huge electoral loss saying “Kejriwal tsunami was bigger than the Modi wave.”
In an editorial in his party mouthpiece ‘Saamna’ Uddhav asked the people of Maharashtra to “learn” from the BJP’s defeat In Delhi.
“The entire election campaign was run in the name of Modi… The way the party attributed its success in other states to Modi, they should do the same for Delhi,” Sena said.
In the Delhi assembly elections, AAP bagged 67 of the 70 assembly seats in Delhi, while the BJP came a distant second with just 3.
