Khopoli: A woman and her daughter were injured in a tragic accident at the Adlabs Imagica theme park in Khopoli near Mumbai on Wednesday.
The duo had boarded a roller coaster ride called Bandits of Robin Hood, which tilted injuring the mother Purnima Rathi (32) and her 16-year-old daughter Mamata.
The woman was injured in the head while her daughter was hurt in the lower jaw. The incident happened at around 12.45 pm in the afternoon. The injured were admitted in the nearby Jakhotia Hospital.
An official statement from Adlabs described the injuries as minor and said that whie the ride had been shut down, the park remained open.
Vincent Pijnenburg, Chief Operating Officer Adlabs Imagica said, “We have always complied with the maintenance and operational procedures recommended by the manufacturers of every ride. The safety of our guests and employees is our company’s utmost priority. We regret this incident but are extremely grateful that everyone is safe.
The theme park, which opened in April last year, is 90 kms from Mumbai near the city of Khopoli along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
