Mumbai: Estranged cousins MNS chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray cast their votes today in Mumbai.

Casting his vote, Uddhav remembered his father and late party supremo Bal Thackeray.

Speaking to reporters after voting at the Navjivan School in suburban Bandra, Uddhav who was accompanied by wife Rashmi and son Aditya said, “I am voting for the first time without Balasaheb and am feeling his absence. However, the party is following the path laid down by him. His absence will always be felt.”

Uddhav’s residence “Matoshree” falls in Bandra East assembly segment which is part of Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha seat where BJP nominee Poonam Mahajan is giving a tough fight to incumbent MP Priya Dutt of the Congress.

The Sena head was accompanied by RPI leader Ramdas Athavale and BJP Mumbai chief Ashish Shelar.

Uddhav’s estranged cousin and MNS president Raj Thackeray also cast his vote at Shivaji Park which falls in the Mumbai South Central seat where his party’s Aditya Shirodkar is pitted against Shiv Sena’s Rahul Shewale and Congress’s Eknath Gaikwad, seeking a third term.
